Viusal Development Test
This piece was created as part of the entrance test for the Visual Development emphasis within the Illustration major at Ringling College of Art and Design, a selective program offering only thirty available spots. The assignment challenged students to design a unique gas station concept, emphasizing worldbuilding, design storytelling, and stylistic individuality.
For my interpretation, I drew inspiration from the Borderlands game franchise, blending its bold, graphic aesthetic with my own artistic style. The resulting concept features a gritty, stylized environment rich with personality — weathered metal textures, eccentric signage, and exaggerated forms that capture the spirit of a world both harsh and humorous. This piece demonstrates my approach to visual development: using design to tell the story of a lived-in world.
